New South Wales Members Day: Knowledge Partnerships

AAUN is growing, with three new members in New South Wales joining in the past year.

We invite colleagues from AAUN member universities in New South Wales, and AAUN Steering Group representatives from our members in Queensland and Victoria, to join us for the AAUN NSW Members Day ‘Knowledge Partners’ on 11 July 2017 at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).

Objectives

  • Introduce researchers and educators with Australia-Africa interests
  • Build synergies and critical mass
  • Debate input to the new AAUN Strategic Plan 2017-20

Outcomes
We expect the Members Day to establish new alliances, opportunities, programs and projects.

Some of these programs may qualify for submission to the AAUN Partnership and Research Development Fund. The call for this seed fund grant of up to $10K for a year – to build a program – will open in October 2017.

The day is also expected to provide input for the AAUN Annual Conference and AGM in Perth on 4-5 September 2017 which is part of Australia Africa Week and in association with the Africa Down Under Conference.

Focus

  • To work within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals and the COP Climate, as well as Australian and African policy priorities.
  • To engage and implement new strengths and reach with new members and       leadership.
  • To define the needs of our members, and the best way that AAUN can support their success.
