Participants
We expect up to 100 expert participants from academia, government, diplomats, business, agencies. We are pleased to welcome guests and observers from cooperating networks and NGOs, including to the AAUN AGM meeting.
We are grateful to the University of Western Australia for hosting the AAUN Forum allied to UWA Research Week. The AAUN Forum is also a part of Australia Africa Week.
Africa Down Under Conference
AAUN members are encouraged to also participate in the Africa Down Under Conference 2018 on 29-31 August. The week will have the engagement of the DFAT and its Advisory Group on Australia-Africa Relations, attendance of Ministers and Heads of Mission, and organisations representing the African diaspora.
During Africa Week, several Australia based organisations will hold conferences, fora, seminars and workshops, building teamwork and cooperation towards 2020 and beyond.
The events through will focus on the existing challenges that Africa face and observe opportunities where Africa and Australia could initiate joint projects to influence policies to create wealth and improve quality of life in both continents. The forum is an initiative promoted by business, academia and governments through involvement of African diplomat missions and with support from DFAT.

Bus transport to and from the conference venue
A complimentary shuttle bus runs between Pan Pacific Hotel to the University Club of Western Australia.
Timetable
Pickup at 8.00 am (sharp) will be at the Pan Pacific hotel main entrance.
Return at 4.10 pm, and 9.10 pm for attendees of the conference dinner.

Taxis
A passing taxi can be signalled if their taxi roof light is on. There is a taxi rank at 140 William Street, Perth, or you may call +61 13 13 30 (Swan Taxis) or +61 133 222 (Black and White Cabs) to book a taxi in advance.

Full Day Parking
Long term parking is available on a pay and display basis along Hackett Drive and on busy days, additional parking is available in car park 3 (immediately adjacent to the Club) at a cost of $15.00 per bay. Tickets are available for purchase from the attendant at the entrance to the undercroft car park. Please note that these bays are only available in the morning.
Short Term Parking
The remaining bays in car park 3 are available on a pay and display basis at a cost of $2.00 per hour, however please note that this car park does have a three hour limit, and vehicles must be moved after three hours, therefore this area is not recommended for delegates attending full-day conferences.

Speakers and discussants
Please register via the registration website and please send your 100-200 word bio, and 100-200 word abstract to A-Prof Grace Liu at gliu@wun.ac.uk by 1 July – after which the program is closed. The bios and abstracts will be edited and circulated, with selected background papers and the final program after 1 August. If you wish to recommend a brief background paper, please do so.
If you choose to use PowerPoint, please ensure your presentation is strictly within the time allowed.
PowerPoint recommendation: we advise a maximum of one slide per minute. Please email your presentation to gliu@wun.ac.uk by 20 August 2018.
