Courses in maternal, neonatal and child health in Africa will be delivered twice in 2013 to a total target of 30 participants. Countries eligible for these short course awards in 2013 are expected to be Ethiopia, Kenya South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda.

These awards will be targeted at the African public sector and civil society with a focus on those working in the area of maternal and neonatal child health as a practitioner or trainer.

Desired applicants are mid to senior level professionals. At least 75% of the awards are available for female applicants.

AusAID may require short course providers to participate in pre- and post-delivery workshops.

Note: In 2013, short awards will be comprised of 400 Short Course Awards (SCA) and 200 Australian Leadership Award Fellowships. Information on Australian Leadership Award Fellowships is available through AusAid. Round 14 will open on 13 May 2013 and close on 19 June 2013.
