The Commonwealth of Learning invited in October 2015 Dr Santally Mohammad Issack to conduct a three-day training with staff of the Seychelles Institute of Teacher Education (SITE) on multimedia materials development for MOOCs using the Rapid e-Learning Methodology. The workshop was conducted with around 20 participants that included academics and teacher educators as well as supporting staff of the SITE.

Journals Consortium released the 2015 Ranking for African Universities and Higher Institutions earlier this year. The rankings, based on research publications and citations from the last five years, placed all AAUN African member institutions in the top 100. University of Cape Town was ranked number one in Africa with the University of Pretoria ranked 3rd and the University of Nairobi
