AAUN International Africa Forum

Join us for the 2016 AAUN International Africa Forum which is taking place in Cape Town, South Africa 5-6 May 2016. The Forum, also an official post-conference session of the British Council’s Going Global meetings, will focus on the challenges of Higher Education in Africa.

AAUN is now in its third year of supporting projects in the key themes of food security, public health, public sector reform, education, mining and economic development. The Forum’s purpose is to facilitate further collaboration on existing AAUN projects, develop ideas for future projects and provide an opportunity for researchers with existing proposals to broaden their networks.

The WUN Global Africa Group will also participate in the Forum. The International Africa Forum is an excellent opportunity for AAUN, WUN and partners to explore research synergies—particularly within the African Higher Education context.

The overall theme is the practical application of the UN Sustainable Development Goals as they relate to higher education and to the other presentations in the Forum. These presentations relate to the research program of AAUN, and these should present an update and a forward look for further opportunities.

Speakers will refer to the goals, and to the African Aspirations 2063, as these may shape broad policy and priorities for research. Please click here to view the UN Sustainable Development Goals & Africa Union 2063 Aspirations.
